Most common types of Narrative Essays

Essays are of different types. Common types of essays include expository, argumentative, narrative, and descriptive. All these types are intended to achieve different purposes. A narrative essay is a type of essay where some connected events are presented in a way to tell a good story. It is also generally true for narrative writing where a story is presented in the form of a novel or a biography, along with an essay writer. A narrative essay unites distinct events by idea, concept, or plot. Normally, a narrative essay contains a beginning in the form of an introduction, the middle with main body paragraphs, and the end with concluding paragraphs. A narrative essay has some types also.
Four common types of a narrative essay include:

1) Linear Narrative Essay
In a linear narrative essay, a story is presented in the exact same order as the events actually happened. It can be done by any narrative perspective i.e. first-, second-, or third-person narration. A reader will be immersed in the daily life of the story’s protagonist when the events of the life of the character unfold chronologically if it is a linear narrative essay.

2) Non-linear Narrative Essay
This type of narrative essay will present the events of a story not chronologically but out of order. A non-linear narrative essay fractures a story’s timeline either to make thematic connections between non-contemporary events or to stress the emotional mindset of a personal narrative.

3) Quest Narrative Essay
In this type of narrative essay, the protagonist of the story world tirelessly in order to achieve a goal. This pursuit of the goal is highly likely to become the character’s passion and many obstacles usually face the protagonist. Typically, the attainment of the goal or the object of pursuit is geographically distinct whereby the protagonist goes a long way to obtain it. That is why it is known as a quest narrative essay.

4) Viewpoint Narrative Essay
In this type of essay, the subjective personal experience or the points of view of the protagonist or other characters of the story are expressed. Such essays also contain the feelings, moods, or other sensory details filtered through the life or the subjective viewpoint of the narrator. A viewpoint narrative essay is presented in a narrative style that is usually described through the first-person narrator or by a third-person omniscient narrator. The story in this type of essay can be presented through one narrator or the subjective viewpoints of multiple characters.
